Parent Volunteers

Our pack’s success is deeply dependent on our parent volunteers. All form of volunteering and participation is welcomed! Without parent volunteers, this pack can’t operate to its full potential. As Pack 850 moves on into the next season, we are in need of parent volunteers! These positions need to be filled:

Chartered Org RepCompleting annual charter renewal process, approving adult applications and acting as liaison between pack and the chartered organization.
New Member Coordinator Welcoming new families to the pack through email and verbal communication.   Assisting with recruitment events.  Assisting with yearly renewals.
Den Leader – LionPlanning monthly or bimonthly meetings of grade level groups to work on and complete advancements; 1 leader per grade level.   Attend monthly committee meetings via zoom.  Assist at pack events.
Den Leader – TigerPlanning monthly or bimonthly meetings of grade level groups to work on and complete advancements; 1 leader per grade level.   Attend monthly committee meetings via zoom.  Assist at pack events.
Den Leader – WolfPlanning monthly or bimonthly meetings of grade level groups to work on and complete advancements; 1 leader per grade level.   Attend monthly committee meetings via zoom.  Assist at pack events.

Fundraise Chairs (2 positions)coordinate fundraisers – 2 yearly – fall popcorn, spring adventure cards
Blue & Gold Chair coordinate Blue and Gold Banquet Event (February/March of each year)
Pinewood Derby Chaircoordinate pinewood derby
Camping Chairlocate and book camping locations for fall and spring campouts.   Assist in planning and running of activities and campfire program

Training

As a volunteer, you can create an account to gain access to all available training content at the Scouting America website here: www.scouting.org/training

Youth Protection

All leaders (are required and all parents are encouraged to take Youth Protection training to sure the safety of our scouts. To complete the training, go to my.Scouting.org and create and account using the member number you received when your registered for Scouting America (formally BSA) membership. If you take the training online before you have the member number, be sure to add the number into your training record to receive credit. Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered.
