What’s the commitment to joining Cub Scouts?
Monthly Pack Meetings
A pack meeting is when all the grade levels gather for a once-a-month meeting lead by the Cub Master. At these meetings, we perform a color guard flag ceremony, make announcements, do an activity, and award any new badges/belt loops. Historically, this meeting has been the first Monday of the month, but this is subject to change.
Scouts wear their Class A uniform.
Den Meetings
A den meeting is when only the den (a certain grade level) meet. This can be in our typical meeting space or on location. The purpose of these meetings are to do an activity that work towards a new badge/belt loop. These meetings are led by the Den Leader. Scouts wear uniform chosen by the Den Leader.
Special Events
Throughout the year, we have fun events planned for your scout! This can be our Fall or Spring campouts, our Derby Car races, or even participation in the city parades. There could also be events for specific den levels. These events change, but you can see some of our annual traditions here.
Scout Uniforms
Scouts wear uniforms throughout the year. They can be purchased at the local Scout Store or online. Badges can be sewn or ironed on (or a combination of both). The Scout Store (located 2305 S. State Hwy 121, Suite 180) also provides sewing service. Neckerchief is provided by the Pack as part of the Pack Activity Fees (see below).
Fees
There is an annual National Registration Fee paid to Scouting America for membership and an annual Pack Activity Fee that covers the costs of overnight campouts, field trips, day camps, etc. The Pack Activity Fee can be waved if your scout meets the set goal in popcorn sales. Hardship Assistance: The Packs reserve funds to ensure that every family, regardless of financial resources, can have fun with use. Reach out to us for more information: [email protected]
Parent Volunteers
Our success as a pack is greatly dependent on help from our scouts’ parents. Joining Cub Scouts is a great opportunity for the whole family to get involved. We have plenty of volunteer positions available for parents who would like to help make our pack as successful as possible.
“Cub scouts has been an amazing experience for my children. They are gaining social skills, strong values, a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for nature. ”
